Jeep Safari Timings & Duration

There are two shifts for the Jeep safari and the official safari duration is 2 hours, but when you book with us, you will get up to 4.5 hours in the morning and 3.5 hours in the afternoon! That means more time inside the park, more wildlife sightings, and more time to soak in nature’s beauty.

Check out the details below to make the most of your safari!

1. Morning Shift

Timing 7:30 am to 12:00 pm
Max Duration 4.5 hours
Entry Time 7:30 am to 10:00 am
Exit Time Before noon

The earlier, the better! If you enter around 7:30 am, you get to enjoy the full safari duration of 4.5 hours. Entering later shortens your safari time, as all jeeps must exit by noon. Early entry means more time to explore the vibrant wildlife, stop and marvel at your discoveries, and let our jeep guide-drivers immerse you in the fascinating world of birds and animals.

2. Afternoon Shift

Timing 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Max Duration 3.5 hours
Entry Time 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Exit Time Before 5:00 pm or sunset, whichever comes first

Why wait for adventure? Enter at 1:30 pm to make the most of the afternoon safari. It’s your chance to catch the forest in a different light as the golden rays of the setting sun highlight every detail of the landscape. Late entry means less time to enjoy, so let’s start early and take it slow.

Jeep Safari Ranges (Zones)

Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve has 11 ranges, but Jeep safaris are available in only 7 exciting ranges. Each offers a unique experience with stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife!

Here are the seven jeep safari ranges you can explore:

  1. 1. Central Range, Kohora
  2. 2. Western Range, Bagori
  3. 3. Eastern Range, Agoratoli
  4. 4. Burapahar Range, Ghorakati
  5. 5. Western Range, Nagshankar
  6. 6. Dhania Range, Burasapori WLS
  7. 7. Gorajan Range, Laokhowa WLS

Opening & Closing Dates for 2024-25

The Jeep safari runs from October 1 to May 31 every year. However, the opening may be delayed by a few days, and the closing may be earlier by a few days if heavy rain damages the safari trails.

If the trails are not safe for vehicles, the park authority may close the jeep safari with prior notice. Everything depends on the weather and trail conditions.

Best Time for Jeep Safari

The best time for a jeep safari is from November to April, before the monsoon rains begin. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the safari trails are in good condition, allowing you to explore the entire route comfortably.

In early October and late May, because of weather, some parts of the trails might be closed due to wet and muddy conditions, especially in forested areas where sunlight is limited, making it difficult for the soil to dry. This can make certain sections unsuitable for vehicles.

Planning your visit between November and April will enhance your safari experience, offering better trail conditions and more opportunities to observe wildlife.

Which Range Should I Choose?

Every range in Kaziranga is special, with unique landscapes and incredible wildlife. The animals you see depend on the day, the weather, and a little bit of luck!

Sightings change daily—even between morning and afternoon. Not even the most experienced guides can predict exactly what you'll see in your safari days in advance.

Don’t rely on advice from one-time visitors—wildlife movement is unpredictable!

Avoid overcrowded zones—too many Jeeps can push the animals away from the safari track.

For the best experience, we recommend at least two Jeep safaris in different ranges to increase your chances of spotting more wildlife.

The best plan? Book your Jeep Safari first and choose the range later (Yes, you can do that!). A day or two before your safari, we’ll help you pick the best range based on recent sightings and crowd levels.

So, which range is best? All of them! Central, Eastern, Western, or Burapahar—each has something special. Stay flexible, trust your guide, and let nature surprise you!

Binoculars Are a Must!

Not every animal will be right next to the track—many stay at a distance. Without binoculars, 80% of sightings won’t be as exciting.

Binoculars let you see birds and animals up close, making the safari more thrilling. Watching their behavior through a clear lens is an experience you don’t want to miss!

That’s why we provide complimentary HD binoculars on your Jeep Safari—so you get the best views and unforgettable sightings!

Cancellation & Refund

Need to cancel? No worries! Cancel at least 2 days before your safari for a refund. A small deduction of ₹16 per Jeep per safari applies for Payment Gateway Fees & GST.

Change in Booking

Want to change your date or shift? Just let us know at least 2 days in advance, and we’ll take care of it!
