Elephant Safari Ranges (Zones)

Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve has 11 ranges, but Elephant safaris are available in only 3 exciting ranges. Each offers a unique experience with stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife!

Here are the three elephant safari ranges you can explore:

  1. 1. Western Range or Bagori
  2. 2. Central Range or Kohora
  3. 3. Burapahar Range or Ghorakati

Opening & Closing Dates for 2024-25

The elephant safari runs from November 1 to April 30 every year. However, the closing may be delayed by a few days and extends till May, if the heavy rain does not damages the elephant safari trails. During 2023-24 season, it was extended till 10 May 2024.

If the trails are not safe for elephant safaris, the park authority may close the elephant safari with prior notice. Everything depends on the weather and trail conditions.

Best Time

The best time for a elephant safari is from November 1 to April 30, before the monsoon rains begin. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and the safari trails are in good condition, allowing you to explore the entire route comfortably.

Planning your visit between November and April will enhance your elephant safari experience, offering better trail conditions and more opportunities to observe wildlife.

Cancellation & Refund

Need to cancel? No worries! Cancel at least 7 days before your safari for a refund. A small deduction of ₹33 per seat per safari applies for Payment Gateway Fees & GST.
