Cross the sub-alpine treeline into dwarf rhododendron thickets, reaching the high mountain pass of Chang La.

Chang La across Poshing La (3,950m) to Potok (4,050m)
Traverse the majestic Poshing La pass with unobstructed views of Mount Gorichen (6,488m) and Mount Kangto (7,090m), descending into the Potok yak pastures.

Potok to Lurthem (4,100m)
Trek past high-altitude glacial tarns, alpine moraines, and nomadic Monpa herder settlements.

Lurthem across Tse La Pass (4,750m) to Mago Village (3,600m)
Climb the challenging high pass of Tse La (4,750m) and descend steeply into the remote village of Mago, resting at natural geothermal sulphur springs.

Mago to Thingbu (3,100m) to Jang Roadhead
Follow the roaring river valley through Thingbu to reach the Jang roadhead near Nuranang Falls.

Jang to Tawang Citadel
Drive from Jang up to Tawang to visit the 17th-century Tawang Monastery (Galden Namgey Lhatse).
